Every Word His Own

France, 1996. In a hospital room by the sea, the editor of a fashion magazine composes a whole book, every word his own. He cannot speak, cannot write and cannot move his hands, and he uses no machine. A visitor takes the text down for him, three hours a day, for two months. How?

The solution

It isn’t on this page, so nothing gets spoiled. You uncover it in the Post Mortem app: ask the narrator your questions, and once you have found every fact, turn the card to read the story.

Once the app is installed, come back to this page to open the riddle in it.

How to solve this riddle

This is a situation puzzle, a lateral thinking riddle solved by asking questions. Read the scene again and separate the facts from your assumptions. With a narrator who knows the answer, ask one question at a time: they answer yes, no or irrelevant.
